BG CERT received $1,800 through the 2024 Community Grants program.
BG CERT is our home town Community Emergency Response Team. CERT volunteer teams perform basic response activities before, during, and after disasters. This includes checking on neighbors, distributing information to the public, and supporting emergency operations centers to help manage traffic and crowds.
Local CERT programs train and organize teams of volunteers, our residents, to assist their familes, neighbors, co-workers and other community members in the event of an emergency or disaster.
BG CERT is also on-call, assisting first responders at large-scale special events such as BG Days. They staff first-aid tables, perform traffic direction, and more. We’re pleased to be able to utilize a portion of the BG Days funds from the Village of Buffalo Grove to support CERT.
